Hero MotoCorp has reportedly discontinued the Mavrick 440, its premium motorcycle model, just few months after launch. According to a report, the Hero Mavrick 440 was discontinued less than a year and a half after its launch due to consistently weak sales performance.The report claimed that many dealerships have stopped accepting new bookings for the motorcycle. The model will reportedly be officially withdrawn from the company’s product portfolio.This premium motorcycle model was launched in early 2024, and was intended to compete in the growing modern classic motorcycle segment. It has the rivals like Honda CB350 series, Triumph Speed 400, and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.The Mavrick 440, however, struggled with poor sales, often registering only low triple-digit figures monthly. Mavrick 440 design and engineThe Mavrick 440 features a muscular fuel tank with neo-retro elements and uses metal for the fuel tank, fenders and shrouds. The bike is equipped with LED lights.The Mavrick 440's 440cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine produced 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, with a focus on usability in low and mid-rev ranges for better urban and short-distance touring experiences.The Mavrick's did have a unique design and ergonomics, but they weren't enough to save it. It eventually got discontinued due to poor reception.
