TN: SC Quashes HC Order on CM’s Name, Photo in Welfare Schemes

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Wednesday has quashed Madras High Court order that prohibited usage of CM Stalin’s name and image in ‘Ungalundan Stalin’ scheme, while dismissing the plea filed by ADMK MP CV Shanmugam. The apex court has also imposed a cost of 10 lakh on ADMK MP for “using courts to settle political scores”. The court directed that the ADMK MP CV Shanmugam to deposit ₹ 10 lakh to Tamil Nadu government within a week and can use the said amount for a scheme of underprivileged.
